thanks Maryjane, I will check at Kmart........maybe i can find something that's at least similar or works in my corner.
my sister helped me tape and pin a border on my Grandmother's Flower Garden top that our mom made in the late 1950's. She helped do some hand piecing on it back in Missouri as well as my older sister...(a family top i guess you would say.) Mom gave both sisters a top as well...Glenda got a Dahlia and Dee got a 9 patch that she helped make too. Now i need to stich down the edges of the flowers along the border and send it to our cousin who does long arm quilting for a living. I ordered the backing and had it shipped to her already and now i need to get busy.
take care and happy quilting.

Hmm...I can only say what I wish I had. I have one pretty good size table (really a door on 2 filing cabinets), but I use it to cut and sew. To have enough room I have to remove the sewing machine, and then put it back (big pain!). So, I would prefer separate spacious places to sew and cut. My sewing room is tiny (6X8) and it also hold the computer and office stuff. Have fun in your new room! Your gonna love it!

laundry baskets for scraps, music system, computer chair with rollers, a tall plastic box for scissors, hard cinnamon candy, candles strategically placed, stashes of fabric, etc . several pincushions or receptacles for pins to save you steps. ironing board and iron.

Only read page one so far, but my had to have was a peg board for my rulers and templates used on my HQ 16. Either the pink measureing tape or like I use a 120 inch yellow tape measure. I also have pen and paper on my frame for notes.

Oh, you ladies are so "funny" with your comments...this new room for her quilting... she is serious and wants our help :)....ok, have to admit I am jealous as it is nice that she has a room she can go into & CLOSE THE DOOR :) I have all the rest the Bose Radio, dog at my feet, razor for my mistakes. So, my input is a "Door" with a sign "Do Not Enter" :)
