Charisma, you're such a beautiful lady, so talented and creative. You do not look over weight in your picture. However I can identify with the longing and need to lose weight around the mid section especially. I personally hope you are just swamped with quilts to longarm that you'll be able to afford the surgery here. I'm worried about your safety in Mexico and possible health risks to you. Please, Please be careful. I will be praying for you... that you will make the right choice that's meant just for you.

A friend's daughter had the lapband surgery done in Mexico and said hers went fine.

I would have it done in America if I could afford it. It is 12000.oo dollars cheaper in Mexico and that included airfare, hotel and the procedure. Pretty Amazing.

I am thinking of a lapband or a gastric sleeve for weight loss. I have called some physicians in my area to ask about fills and their experience with patients that had their surgeries performed in Mexico only one responded back and said they were fine.

    What are your experiences?

You are very pretty. Do you really need the surgery? If so, then God Bless you and I hope everything goes well for you.

She did not ask if we thought she needed the surgery. The question is if anyone has had the surgery in Mexico & could share their personal experience.

    And I repeat again...

Folks - let's not pass judgement from a picture. Nothing harder than knowing how much you weigh, but because of your body composition & stature, to others it does not appear to be what it is. There was a time in my life that at 5'2" & 200lbs, not even my own mother thought I weighed that much.

I'm don't know about anyone else but I'm not passing judgement on anyone. I just asked a question. I understood exactly what Charismah was asking. I was giving her a compliment. She is absolutely beautiful whatever her weight is. That is why I asked the question. Read what I wrote next in order to put the whole comment into perspective. Let's not make things more than what they are.

Congratulations on your first steps of cosidering weight loss. Those of us who suffer being over weight carry a burden that thin people will never and can never understand.
I live on the Mexzican border and know many people who have had medical work done there. I have never heard of any horror stories, but then I have not talked to everyone of course who has had surgery there. Just do your research and don't jump into anything to fast.
I do have a cousin, who has had many many surgeries in his lifetime due to a bad accident 40 years ago.
Two years ago, he went to Thieland for surgery and said he wished he had know about this place many years earlier. He said it was the best medical facility, staff, Dr.s and treatments that he has ever experienced. Said that people were coming from all over the world. The rates were much cheaper than anywhere else.
Might consider doing some research for that country.
Good Luck in your research and decision. Please keep us posted.

It is very interesting reading all of the many comments. You can almost tell by the positive and negative comments given by people as to whether that person has ever had a weight problem.
It isn't easy folks having a weight problem.
Thin people seem to think all you have to do is to eat the correct food and portions.
Thin people do not seem to get it when it comes to why we are over weight.
Wish we could all be thin without having to think about what we eat also.
