Every January my husband and I go to North Bend State Park in Cairo WV. I take sewing machines, fabric, sewing table, my Alto's, steam generator and make quilts for the week. He reads, relaxes. It's wonderful. Some people understand and others don't! Their loss. DH and my gain! Glad you had a great time.

Please post photos when you can. I've attached a photo of the view from my outdoor sewing area. I love to sew on our back deck. I'm fortunate enough to be able to live in the mountains so when it's not too windy I do as much sewing on the back deck as I can. Suddenly you don't care if you make a mistake and have to rip out . I even got DH to cut apart my pieces I chain stitched together.

A vacation is not just going somewhere just to run around in a different way. You made a perfect choice. A vaca to do just what you wanted to. Quilting for you and fishing for hubby. That's what I call a vacation.

WOW. What a wonderful vacation. This is exactly why I love quilt retreats. Several days of straight quilting, someone else doing the cooking, having good friends to chat with. Heaven.

Most definitely understand! My bff and I go to Branson, Mo for a week every fall. We load the van with machines, chairs, design wall, projects, diet cokes,
And pajamas! We may go to a show, we may not. We cook most our meals,
Thing we like to eat. We go to bed when we want to, we get up when we want to, we say what we want to. But, the most special thing we do, is LAUGH!!! We mainly laugh at the stupid things we have done, we think we are very funny!

Hubby and I usually make one trip per year to the beach with just the 2 of us. He fishes and I sew all day. If I am at home I find too many other things to do and get very little quilting done.
