Any Famous Ancestors?
#112
I haven't done any genealogy, so the only ancestor I can say for sure was at least semi famous was my paternal grandfather, John Wesson. He was instrumental in getting the wheat pool started in Saskatchewan in the early 1920's. As part of that process, I have a picture of him meeting with "the Queen Mum". Queen Elizabeth, princess at that time, is in this photo as well. She looks to be about mid-teens.

After they figured out how Mickey and so on would look and sound, they trained the animators and then moved up to management. I have two original scketches Jack made for my great uncle dated 1931. My grandmother has another famous cousin. General George Patton. And when her not so upstanding nephew named his son George, she had a FIT!

Had aunts on both sides of the family who did geneaology. The one on my mom's side found Patrick Henry in the family tree, and the one on my dad's side found Commodore Oliver Hazard "Don't shoot til you see the whites of their eyes!" Perry.

Infamous: had a GGG uncle that was a lynchman. Had a pic of him with his mask and rope.
GF came up with an idea to improve the twisting of wires to make them stronger for building/construction. Since he had no money to patent it, he went to his boss for help, presented the situation, boss said he would help, long story short, boss stole idea and made millions.
Infamous: had a cousin who was a modern dancer with Martha Graham, Rudolph Nuryev(sp), and a few other famous dance companies in the 60"s and 70's.
My DH relatives are famous in VA for being Woodsmen and founding some town. His relatives came over with the Mayflower. That's about it.
Can't think of any more.
