Even tho I have not quilted for awhile, due to CFIDS, I am nonethe less less inspired everytime I log on. I am going to nake a purse, now, to start of after so long a hiatus. And get the kinks out. 8-)

My quilts are definitely not perfect. As long as I like them that's all that matters. Somedays though you truly can't do anything right. Walk away. Take a hint from Scarlett, "after all, tomorrow is another day". Don't think of it as ripping (such a negative term). Think of it as reverse sewing!! I think the quilt on your avatar is wonderful.

Isn't that the truth? I'm already older & fingers don't like
quilting by hand.My back won't let me do all the
cutting at one time,as I used to do.Our eyes tire faster & the
body complains.Still,as DH says, every day
above ground is a good day!
"Then I remember I'm getting older and nothing is as it once was. I'm just happy to be quilting."

I do have to say though that I am putting on the top and bottom border of a charity top that I made yesterday. Notice I said top, certainly NOT a quilt, yet, just some scraps sewed together until I get my wide butt into gear to get it done.

OK if your avatar is an example I don't think you have anything to worry about.
I myself have only been quilting for about 4 years. In the begining I was my own worst critic. Finally my sister told me that nothing in life, or quilting is perfect and your mistakes are what makes it hand made, by a person and not a robot machine.
So like you said, give yourself a break! :)

I look at the quilts posted here and thinsk "WOW" Sometimes they give me the incentive to try something new or to try different color combinations. I love my quilts just the way they are sooooooo - whatever works BUT enjoy!!!!!
