I think it looks great! I have wanted to do a quilt like this, but after all the hair pulling and cursing I have been doing with my son's sailboat quilt, I might not! I think your hubby is a very smart guy to claim it for himself.

karla, this obviously doesn't bother anyone but you. but if it makes you crazy nuts, put on that extra border, make it a busy-ish print and it will detract from any mistakes you think there are. the bold pattern will still pop, but the incidentals will vanish.

Very pretty, I love the colors! As for the "mistakes" when you look at the whole quilt you can't see any and if someone gets close enough to point anything out, just let them do better if they can.
