I used to have a cat that did EVERTYTHING with me. When I sewed he had gotten too big to hold so I rolled up the bottom of my shirt and pinned it like a baby carrier. He slept in there and I sewed and cut over top of him. Always careful to keep thread and pins away, etc. I carried him around that way to do all my household chores. I miss him dreadfully, but a great horned owl got him one night. That was years ago and we have moved and our present cat is not allowed in the work room. She is not even interested which is a good thing.

Enjoy your fur kids. They are worth it.

Sounds like another good use for sandpaper, just make an apron of sandpaper and problem solved!

Cute babies. My one cat loves to be directly in front of the needle when I start to sew, then a few minutes later she'll move to the other side and just to the right of the needle but plays with the material as I sew. Her sister is a little shy of the sewing machine while the other cat is in there.

My one cat has to be with me every second. Even when I'm working on my quilting. Benny is on top of my material and he watches me cut material and even threading my sewing machine. The other cat, TC, is on the floor watching my foot on the sewing machine pedal and swinging his paw at the cord. They are both my babies!!!1

What sweethearts! I see that you, like me, have conceded that resistance is futile! Gotta love our babies...

My mum is here for a few days and being sick she spends most of her time in bed. Misty seems to think that she should watch mum in bed. At the moment she is sleeping in the middle of my sewing and when I start work again she will be in my way while I try to finish the quilt I am working on. I think cats are caring animals and they need to see you all the time incase they think you need their support.

Use to be kids I tried to sew with in my lap, they would usually fall asleep, now it would be the cats if I let them in my studio, but it's about the only time I sit down without one in my lap and that's because I made it off limits, even though they occasionally sneak in, fortunately not often.

Now add a dog to the mix and you have my problem. I just shoo them all off and let them go sleep elsewhere. They do have to be with me while I'm on the computer or sewing.

Thanks for sharing- just love it!!! They are so cute :D:D
PS. Have you tried the Furminator tool??? It's fantastic. I brush all my cats with it and it gets TONS of fur. Best tool I've used in all my years of being a cat servant lol
OMG -- Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

the furminator is the coolest thing I've ever tried! I combed my st bernard with it yesterday and had a pile of fur as big as him!
