That is a BEAUTIFUL quilt. You are so talented. I imagine it must have taken a long time but the result was well worth it.

Thanks everyone! The FMQ took a full day, including looking up designs, sketching them then trying them out on a practice sandwich in different shades of thread to see how they'd look. The tree took a good couple of days - it doesn't really show on the photo but there are different grades of yarn in there, giving texture to the charred bark. The biggest job though was the beads - I think that was about 4 evenings from sitting in front of the TV at 8ish through to bedtime around midnight. :shock: :lol: I loved making this though. :-D

What a wonderful job with the quilts.
Do you have any idea of where the fires were ?
I had 3 sons who were effected in some way
by the fires in Victoria.

I haven't seen my friend yet to ask her - she's on hols at the moment. She may be back this evening and I'll see her at our village social club, in which case I'll ask her. :-D
