My husband was a mercy date. Had a friend that thought we would be good together but when she showed me a picture he was wearing glasses with the thick black plastic frames. By the time I met him he had gotten new wire rimmed glasses. We met in March, were engaged in June and married in October. Will be celebrating our 33rd Anniversary in October.

I was at a garage sale talking to the gentleman selling things. I saw a sugar bowl but no lid, I told him I did not have the money(I lied), but he told me go ahead and take it home, and pay him later. I came back several days later to pay him the $0.50 I owed him and he introduced me to his son. One thing led to another and I invited myself to go with him to Gettysburg for the Remembrance day parade. Then we started dating.

I met my DH when we were in high school. He dated my best friend. She broke up with him our senior year. He asked me to our prom, I said no. We graduated and went our seperate ways. We met up about 8 years later, he asked me out again, and again I said no. Then we met again about 10 years later. As they say, third times a charm. We have been together ever since. Dated for 5 years and been married for 6 next month. Boy, am I glad he didn't give up!!!

I was born in 1941 at home, he was one of my first visitors (he was 2). We went to church together and by the age of 15 I knew he was the one and so did he. 53 years later -4 children, 15 grand chindren and 4 great grands - we are still sure.

To make a long Soap Opera story short...We were friends for 3 years and then one day we were going to go out with another couple (friends) and they backed out on us. So, we decided to still go out just the 2 of us...WELL....It will be 22 years the end of September. And still the Best of Friends!!

We met when I was a senior nursing student and he was a patient. His care was assigned to one of my friends and when she went to lunch she asked me to give him his meds while she was gone. The med was an injection in the hip. To this day he likes to tell people that the first thing I ever said to him was "pull your pants down". On our first date he asked what kind of engagement ring I wanted. We were engaged 2 mo later and married 7 mo later and it's now been 50 yrs. Love him!
