Edie I would love to have your recipe!
    Thank you! Here goes:

Jager Beef Soup (Jager is German for Hunter (pronounced Yeager)

    2t vegetable oil
1 large sweet yellow onion, chopped
    1 large green pepper chopped
#2 top sirloin, or whatever (we use Venison)
2 - 28 oz. cans diced tomatoes with juice
    1 - 12 oz. can tomato paste
    5C beef stock
    3C water
3 potatoes - peeled and cut into 1/2" pieces
3 carrots - peeled and sliced into 1/2" pieces
2 stalks celery - cut into 1/2" pieces
1 small can bits and pieces mushrooms with juice
Handful of frozen peas (if desired)
    3T paprika
    1t black pepper
    1/8t crushed red pepper

In a large Dutch oven or stock pot, heat oil. Cook onion and green pepper for five minutes. Add beef. Brown on all sides. Add remaining ingredients. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat. Cover and simmer til carrots are tender. Add the potatoes about 45 minutes before serving. Let it simmer nice and slow. Take the top off once in a while so too much condensation will not drip into the pot. Check for tenderness of potatoes. It tastes even better the second day!!!!

Season to taste. I serve it with soft bread sticks and dunk them in the soup. Please to enjoy!!!!! Edie

MMMM! MMM! MMM! This sounds so good. I wished we had venison. My Dad used to hunt when we were kids in upstate NY and we would have venison. Thanks for the recipe.

On the note of dieting..... I want a baby ruth candy bar so bad. I am glad I have NO chocolate or anything sweet in my house. I can't just run to the store as I work from home. My office in Jax, FL is having some work done on the main server so I had to shut my computer down this morning. I have physical therapy this afternoon so I have most the day to mentally psych myself to pass right by the stores and not stop for a baby ruth. I keep telling myself they are full of maggots. Gross, but I'm trying to convince myself I don't want one.

i best log back into my work computer. I hope you all have a Blessed day. Big hugs to all, Sandy
    Sending you hugs and prayers!

Oh I sure will! The first appointment is the pre-op one and then they will schedule the surgery. So I am sooo hoping it will be before the end of February but we will see.

I have to see a different surgeon on Tuesday because my hernia has gotten really bad. He will probably say wait until I have the weight loss surgery to fix the hernia but we shall see on that one too. I will let you guys know.

    Love you all!!

Oh Missy it's so exciting! Can they do both the hernia and weight loss surgery at the same time?
