Got to tell ya you are not the only lurker out there i have been hiding in the shadows for the last two months trying to get up the courage to show some of my work. Here is my problem i am so critical of what i make that i find all the screw ups before anyone else can even get close to it and therefore i hide it away and dont show anyone. I have only been teaching myself how to quilt in the last year. I am so afraid of making mistakes that i cant make myself take classes for this reason. I enjoy my form of quilting, just to scared to show it to anybody but my husband and he tells me its good but he's my husband and would never tell me that is wasnt. So i will most likely lurk around in the shadows for a long time.

Look at all the nice people we met in this thread today.
It would be a shame if you all went back to lurking.
Welcome to you all :D

No your not alone, I have been here for a while and haven't posted anything. So far I have only made a baby quilt that ended up fitting a twin size bed. I haven't even started on my first real quilt because I just know I will screw it up beyond repair

Shhh! they might hear us.i've been shy with pictures, but I've taught kindergarten/first grade/alternative high school.an article i read said that if you ask a group of kindergartners "Who can draw?", all hands go up. if you go into a high school class & ask the same thing, no one raises their hands. so, the fear of judgment is one of the best lessons we learn from school. sad.
I say post one of yours & I will too. The Quilt Police on strike!

I feel a bit the same. After looking at the fabulous quilts posted, I think, perhaps some other day! I'm still working up the courage.

No you are not the only one. I am so scared to place my pictures on here. There have been so many beautiful quilts. I feel like an amateur!

I so know what you are saying!! I have been "quilting" for about 8 years (self taught) and still can't master it - my bigest problem is cutting off points. Any suggestions that might help me?
