I think a sig block would be a cute idea.

OK, we don't want to make this hard or complicated. Those that want to send in signature blocks can and those that can't or don't want to, don't need to worry about it. It is no big deal!!!! Here are a few photos: The first is a 2 x 4 inch scrap that we can sign. The second one is 3 - 2x4 strips sewn together. It really doesn't matter, I would be happy with any size scrap signed with the swappers info. I can always put a border around it to add it in the quilt. NO STRESS!!!!!!!!!

Blessings!

2 x 4 inch scrap These were thrown together in a flash just for examples

3 - 2 x 4 inch scraps sewn together Forgive this photo...... It is not squared up or signed in the middle.

The rail fence is a neat idea. This might also work. (if I can get the info to copy)

I sent a PM to sign on for this. I like the extra piece of material/block with the name of the swapper and where located.

(Nice to have the total count of swappers listed on the activity page. Thanks.)

Thanks for the tutorial. Simple is good!

What types of pens can you use? Do you heat set it with an iron?

A pigma pen is permanent on fabric, and works well for this type of thing. I usually don't heat set it, but it gets pressed when I join blocks, so maybe I really do

Quilt Mom sent me this:
I like the idea of adding the signature block/signed strip. Perhaps, to make it a little less fabric consuming, the block could be a 3" square finished size. A rail fence or other small block would be cute that way. And people could cut a 3 1/2" square and sign it if they chose not to make a block.

This is a great idea. The good thing about this being international, they don't have to match!!!! That will make it unique!!!!

Blessings!
Carole

Hi

Ooh this swap sounds really interesting - count me in! I've never taken part in a swap before so I'm sorry I will probably have to ask some pretty dumb questions so I don't get anything wrong!

Most of the fabric I buy here in Scotland is made in the US but I know I could send some tartan or I have had a quick look for Scottish/British fabrics and I found these - would they be of any interest?

Carsey, I like the sig block/scrap but can I safety pin each one to the fat quarter? Or put each fq in a separate baggie with the sig block/scrap? I think I like this better.

Yvie: pretty fabrics!
