My fabrics came today! They are sooo pretty! I tried taking a picture, but both the reds and blues were too bright in the pictures, so I decided to bag that idea...maybe the time of day. Anyway I still have to wash them and then decide which ones to use...didn't realize I ordered so many...

urgod'schild2--such pretty fabric! I sew mini's and accuracy is very important. Through lots of trial and error I have learned about what I call the L-R swing. We tend to sew a smidgen too wide at the beginning of the seam and swing in toward the end and make the seam allowance narrower. This combination at the end and beginning of a seam makes the block even more off. To eliminate the L*R swing:
1. Pay close attention when starting and stopping a seam
2. Chain piece using leaders and enders or a scrap piece of fabric.
3. Use a stilleto or close finger placement.

I spent one entire day with my fabric. Had to take everything out of the cabinet, re-fold, organize, and discovered that I have more than enough scraps to make at least two log cabin quilts. Oh, gosh, yet another project to work on. Good thing CW isn't due till October.

Sweet of him isn't it. Love it when the DH says that you need to buy fabric to make a project just right. It is even better when he goes shopping with me because I get more than if I went by myself because I just say it can wait and he says get it now it might be gone. Ok if he says it ya know.
