Ibet it will look great once you've done a few more blocks and can really see what the quilt will look like. I like it a lot.

The block is gorgeous and the quilt will be spectacular. Keep at it, your sister will love it no doubt in my mind.

I love the colors. Just out of curiosity, place a dark color over the middle star to see if that effects how you see the color scheme..the middle star seems to fade away a little..I think the quilt will be great no matter what! Just keep going.

I liked the original block and and thought your piecing was very nice. Now, seeing the mock-up, I have to say I think it will be spectacularly beautiful! I hope you're able to continue with it in good spirits. I love the colors, the fabrics and the pattern (and I wish I could be your sister...lucky girl!!!)

Actually, it does make up to a fairly nice looking quilt. You just have to like purples and teals (which I do, by the way). I did a mockup of the finished quilt in Photoshop.

I think it is stunning. Batik's are my favorite.

i love it...i'm wondering if a blue (of similar color) would be nice for the sashing...maybe some seasoned quilters would have a better idea...

It is very pretty, your Sister will like it and that is what is important. I bet you will like it too by the time you are finished with it.
