Cedar - i LOVE how you brought that Kitty panel to life with your own special border touches! I wouldnt have thought of that, but what you have done gives me some great ideas for the future 💜 a question about the fabric you found for the border - did you have it in your stash or was it already set aside with the UFO? Everything goes together so well!
Joe’s Mom… that is a GORGEOUS quilt!!! You are obviously a very meticulous piecer - its PERFECT!!! I love the colors too!!! I hope you are enjoying your great finish 💜 i am sure you have something just as beautiful in the queue for the next finish!
Im hoping to get a few more finishes done myself this year - and you all really inspire me 💜 Between the new puppy last year and the broken hand about 6 months before that i have been staring at that pile of UFOs for a long time. Hopefully its been long enough where i wont be so critical of myself and just be REALLY HAPPY to finish some stuff and allow myself the grace to see the beauty that others say they see when they look at them 🫣 even if they are really BEING TOO NICE to me - lol!
I dont know about all of you… but i know i have at least one THIMBLEBERRIES quilt top to finish that i just kept shoving to the bottom of the pile… now THATS PATHETIC if ya really wanna think about HOW MANY YEARS AGO those blocks of the month came on the scene! Yikes.

AprilM - Thank you so much. The squares were ones my grandma had precut. There were boxes of several different sizes and I chose the 3 inch because it had the most purple and brown tones and then I tried to make them repeat as much as possible. I did pick out the yellow and the purple that are in the centers because I wanted them to be extra cohesive with the sides being slightly larger blocks. Alot of the purple fabric is actually leftover from my childhood quilt which was based around a purple cat print in 1991, so that was fun.I knew I wanted something to break up the multiple borders and repeat the colors or patterns in the cats and I saw the squares and knew I could create something similar to the checks in the cat blocks. Im glad to hear you thought it fit.

I hope everyone had a lovely easter!
So many amazing finishes since last time I peeked in this thread. I also appreciate the scrappy quilts that were posted a couple of pages back - I am currently doing my first Bonnie Hunter (Lupine) and finished a scrappy-ish quilt earlier this year. I am drawn to the look of scrap quilts, but currently do not have a large stash of scraps - I have lots of fat quarters - and end up buying more fabric for each 'scrap' quilt I do because I want it to be very controlled.
Anyway, I have been trucking along with some finishes. I have had COVID in the last week and managed to get an additional two projects finished. One a small quilt for the cats 'the girls', they love laying on quilts on the floor so I thought I would make one for them. So far, they have not touched it. I also finished quilting and binding Trailhead, which was a mystery quilt I participated in.Other finishes earlier this year include the sixteenth sawteeth, which is probably my favourite one I've made (although I look at it now and see that I should have orientated all my sixteen patches the same way! I also had the RSS Squared quilt, which was a top in the pile that I offered to quilt up for a friend's 30th birthday. She said yes, so I got it done in the weekend!
I will try to upload my pictures to this post too :-) Now all I have to do to catch up is finish number 11, Dani's Halloween Quilt.

CraftyBecksa…. Thats a LOT of quilts you got finished!!!! They are ALL so beautiful - i ESPECIALLY LOVE the PINK ONE! I was immediately drawn to that one because it inspired me to think about maybe doing one in purples since your pink one turned out so nice!

CraftyBecksa, Well, whoo hoo to you this morning! What a way to dive in and go after your list in a very short time. (Thanks for the list, BTW)
I like the pink one especially too. I can see that one done in all sorts of colors and a good way to use my multitude of 2.5" squares in the checkerboard blocks.
Press on and continue working on your #11.
