I bought the exact same bundles with the exact same thing in mind, you have convinced me I can do it so here goes, I will let you know how I do.[/quote]

Believe me, if I can do it, anyone can! Just take your time when building your design.

Thank you all for the comments, it's keeping me motivated to finish this project.

I've got about 1/3 of all the strips sewn together now.
I forgot to take pictures when I had the entire design laid out. I'll take a couple of pictures when I get back home tonight and try to get them posted.

I'm not sure what I want to do with it when I get it finished, I thought about adding a border and making it a twin size quilt for my granddaughter,But I'm afraid it would get loved alot and would fall apart quickly with all the pieces (over 1500 pieces so far) but then I also thought of making it a wall hanging for my sewing room =)

If you were going to put a border on it, what color would you use?

    Thanks again for looking!

It's beautiful and I agree I would not change anything. I made an around the world quilt and when I sent it to the quilters I noticed some squares that did not match up I was tempted to take the whole thing apart.

I decided to let it stay as it is and stop trying to be a perfectionist. I am so glad I did now that it is done you can't see the mistakes.

Just saw this thread, and your bargello took my breath away. Gorgeous. As far as a border, black would make a nice frame. If you have any of the colors left, I would have three borders: thin black, pieced colors, thicker black. In a ratio something like 1.5/2/3.5" Good luck. I am sure whatever you decide will be fantastic.

That sounds like a great idea! I do have some of the pieced fabric strips left!
When i'm finished piecing it together I will have to give that a dry run and post pics to see what you think.
    Thanks!

Check out the "color falls" design at the link here -
I'm currently making one from the same fabric bundles you're using for your bargello, which is most striking, by the way; good job. We await photo of it!
