Well, I decided to do small Hourglass blocks. Seems appropriate since I am aiming for an hourglass shape, and also since it is taking time LOL.

I've lost 42 lbs so i will start making blocks. I will use one fabric as background in every block and stash for the rest. maybe a nice black n white polka dot would be a good background?

Ok, I'm in. Sounds like it'll be fun! 1 down, 99 to go. Sounds like a song!

You have all given me so many good ideas. Maybe use the FW blocks, I have the book. This is going to be a lot of fun.
Where can I get PP flower block patterns. I love the idea. I will eventually have 50 blocks to make I was thinking about doing flowers.

The October Fab Shop Hop is cupcake patterns, so maybe I should do the disappearing 9 patch when I lose a pound and a cupcake block when I gain? Did you notice that I am very confident in the fact that I will gain some back?

here's the "Happy" block I wrote about earlier. I was posting from my phone earlier and couldn't get the picture to send. Then when I figured it out it had timed out so ... that's why you had to wait for it.

I'm at my daughter's now doing a little babysitting. The grandboy in my avatar is napping - under the monkey quilt that's in the picture. What else can we give our loved ones that has our hands and hearts all over it?

Ladies keep telling us about the #'s lost. I need encouragement. I started this week and may have lost 1/2 lb or maybe it was water. Will work harder next week. I am determined to make this work. Can anyone think of a 1/2 block I should make to celebrate? Gail

Gail if I lose another pound I am doing a disappearing 9, or maybe 4, patch. If you do that, you could do the original patch for the first half pound and the cutting and resewing for the next half.

JanTX your block is very "happy", I like!

I was going to do a block per pound, but these blocks are large so maybe a block per two pounds? I like the idea of making the block one week and cutting and resewing the next when I have to wait for the 2 pounds to go. I've lost 20 pounds in the last year and have about 50 left to go. Long road ahead, but have to start it to finish it!

Had a dr. appt. Fri. I am down 14 pounds from when I was there in July. So my first block will represent that total. I think the biggest help was my commitment to take a walk for at least 30 min. a day (well most days). And I found myself quite often when being tempted to ask myself "do I really want this _____ and undo the progress I've made so far" Most of the time just taking the time to consider it helped to fend off the temptation. I think I turned a corner this summer because in the past I would just give in.
Ok so I'll get working on my block and try to post it next weekend.
