Okay, I'm in! This is great - I need to lose weight and need to add to a very limited stash. This kills two birds with one stone so to speak ( if I do well with the weight loss part).

I am new to the quilting board. I do want to join this weight loss discussion. Hopefully it will help to discuss weight loss issues.

I've found that many weightloss issues are more life issues and the weight is just a manifestation. Depression is a life issue, but it can contribute to a weight loss issue. The many twists and turns this thread takes is just the medicine I need to help me weather the storms and rough waters of my life.

I too must drop more than 100 pounds. This year I am going to make a quilt with a block representing each of those 100 pounds. They will be all different fabrics. I havaen't picked out a pattern...maybe it won't have a pattern. As I loose a pound, and keep it off for a week, I will add a block to my board. When I get 10 blocks, I will make a row. Anyone want to join in? Some talked about doing this last year. I'm hoping it will help me.

Gwyn, I think this is a great idea. I'll try to do this, too.

I need to lose 80lbs. My cardiologist told me to lose 30lbs 2 years ago. I did....3 times....but gained it all back (and more) each time.
I use carbs instead of drugs for my nerves, I guess.
    Time to get a grip!
I went to the doctor yesterday and they weighed me so I'm all set to start tomorrow.

I'm in again! One of these months I will get back on track and start losing again. But, if that doesn't happen I will certainly enjoy the journey. I love this thread so much fun and help and caring, not like my "real" life at all LOL!

For Gwyn and Mary Jane, Carrie did start a thread for making a weight loss quilt http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-68430-1.htm. You won't see any of my blocks there, since I haven't lost a pound since we started it, GRRR. Actually for December I gained a pound. Sigh

1 day left for my pigging out for December. I gotta a bunch of new clothing for Christmas that are just a tad bit too small in the waist and big everywhere else, if I drop 5lbs. then they will probably fit perfect. Is it just me or are jeans made oddly? They are big in the butt, thighs and belly but small around the waist. I don't get it.
