Hmm... I'm thinking the way I cut the squares will put the bias on the wrong edges for the HST. Oh well, I am committed to deal with stretchy edges in the next step if I have to. Or, since I cut large squares, I might have enough to redo. If not, well I have yards and yards of melon and can recut those correctly leaving just the neutral edges a bit stretchy.
Isn't a race and it isn't always perfect
One of the things that make a more-experienced quilter isn't that we don't make mistakes, but we know what we need to do to correct them.

I have switched from max strength to regular strength cold medication, but still very dizzy. My brain works better, though, so I can at least make my choices for clue #4 today. Tomorrow morning is the last time I'm supposed to take it.
. I'm pretty sure I don't have 25 different melons, so not sure how I will approach this clue.

I am using the 2" finished triangle die for my Sizzix on Clue 4. The sample came out perfect - 8 perfect squares!!! Yay! You waste more fabric using the dies, I find! But with my arthritic fingures, it sure helps my hands! I can cut all 8 triangles in one sweep! I cut out 3 sets in no time!

JeanieG, so glad you found an easier way to do these! It took me awhile to get used to the waste involved in using Accuquilt, but if it's a choice between wasting fabric and not quilting, I'll waste the fabric.

Rethinking here. I am considering doing mini versions of the blocks. So far all the clues can be halved. So now, before I start sewing, I guess I will need to see all the clues to see if this idea is actually feasible.
Has anyone done any of the BH mystery quilts as miniatures?

Yay, JeanneG, so glad you figured out a method.
I've decided to go with the bias on the wrong sides. I will have to remind myself if it is a bit fiddly that it is my fault.
Ilovetoquilt -- more power to you. To me, Bonnie's designs going down to 1" finished ARE miniature!! I think this is certainly a good point to try a few of the different clues in smaller size.
For those that haven't started sewing yet, most of the clues aren't so bad, but no doubt that there are a lot of 4-patches. For me the key was cutting large amounts of strips and then setting on a number of what is reasonable for you to sew at one time, then keep slogging away.

Impressive! You must have a huge stash! I scrounged up 7 and felt proud of myself. But added to the five neutrals I could get up to 35 different sets. But I'm only doing half.
