I love the fabric and the block! Keep going on it. Maybe a calm dark sashing between the blocks will make the difference for you.

LOL I totally understand your problem. My DGS wanted his quilt to be orange, my least favorite color in the world. But I love him, so orange it was. I was never so happy to finish a project in my life!!! Hugggggs, smilessssss and speedy quilting on this one.

Sorry you don't like it, I know how hard it is to work on something you really don't like and are always glad when it is finished. Personally I really really like the pattern and the color combo. But then I like almost anything in the purple or violet family. I really think those fabs. go together very well, but then that's just my opinion. Anxious to see the finished quilt. Maybe, you could do some switching of the fabric in places and make it look different, not using other fab, just switching what you have. This would give it an entirely different look. I really do like it.

I think it is gorgeous! Maybe you will like it more as you work on it.

I too, love the fabrics. Even though they will present different from the pattern the quilt should be beautiful. And, if sis likes them - forge ahead! By the end, you may decide the colors have grown on you!

Can you talk her into alternating plain squares? It will make the block pattern stand out...( and you will only have to make half as many plus one). JP

Just remember, she said she loves it...the quilt is for "her", NOT you. If she "loves it", that's what is important. You work is very nice & it will be a treasure to your sister because you did it for her. Even more of one IF she knew you did it & hated it from the beginning, but did it anyway, because she "loved it". A sister's gotta do what a sister says she'll do.

It doesn't matter whether you like it or not...
your work is perfect and as long as they like it....
I would focus on the technical aspects, chain piece as much as possible and before you know it...it'll be done and they'll love you even ore for all your hard work.

Actually, the fabric combinations are rather nice! He's got a good "eye".
