I didnt think about quilting around the fish, since I appliqued them...That's an idea I think I might like  That way I can be seen on the back too....Bubbles are an AWESOME idea!!!

I love the idea of quilting around the whales as well! Are you talking about silvery beads to hand sew on there?

This is why I love this board! I get all kinds of great ideas

Yes, hand sewn. I know there's a way to machine sew beads by holding them in place with tweezers but I think that's more trouble than it's worth... I sewed beads in flower centres on my Orchidacious quilt (posted in Pics) and it really lifted the whole thing. :-D

What about doing swirls in the sky area, the wave design on the top half and when you get to the end of the first section of the bargello go to freehand and start softening the wave and go around the fishes. You get less WAVE the deeper into the ocean you go!

Love your quilt, I'm working on a quilt with fishes too. I am dying to try a bargello!

I will look for some beads. That is a great idea! I don't know if our friend will actually use it for a blanket or a wall hanging. I told my husband that if I had made if for us, we would be hanging it on the wall!!! I think my DH will probably make a wooden wall hanger for it, just in case our friend wants to use it as a wall hanging.

Thanks! I was actually thinking maybe quilt stars in the sky area...not sure yet. You are right!!! Less waves as you go deeper. I didnt think about that. What do you think about a small meandering in the big black bottom of the quilt?

Sorry I can't help you cause I don't do quilting. However, I have to tell you how beautiful your quilt already is.
