Thanks for the tips. I tried a new needle and it goes fine and then like clockwork gets stuffed up again. It's killing me too cause I'm almost finished and only have two spools of this thread left and my bff is coming soon to get it and I don't have enough time to order more and arggggg.

I blame the thread.

Did u try a larger needle?? There are two types of quilting needles. Once I tried the larger one it worked great!

When my LA does this it is always in need of more oil. As soon as I oil it works beautifully again. Give it a try.

yes agree with the oil as Rose L said. Also, I clean the bobbin and case.

the oil did it. Thanks so much. Much better now. I had been meaning to do it, really, I bought the oil and everything.

You're going along fine and them blamo. It's like the needle is shredding the thread? Is this a tension problem? bobbin, presser foot or thread tension? lower, higher? gahh. I'm covered in thread. And it's glow in the dark so it looks like I've been butchering glow worms.

I'm almost finished with this darn thing and my machine keeps tripping up. Anyone have any clue? Pictures attached.

Try putting your thread in the freezer for about an hour. Then try it. This is an old trick we use to do with embroidery thread when I had my business. Don't know why it works but it does.

Did you try a Topstitching needle? They have a larger groove for the thread to go thru before it gets to the eye. It might help.

Looks like your problem is solved, but I just wanted to add my 2 cents for whatever it may be worth. I have found that my Pfaff does not like Coats & Clark thread. I've heard other Pfaff owners say the same thing. I donated all my C&C spools to my quilt guild's recycle shop, switched over to either Gutterman, YLI, or signature thread and have had no more headaches r/t shredded thread.
