Okay back to the cute snowball. What a great idea! Like how the HST in the corners are less busy while they frame the busy snowballs. How wide are the snowballs? I would love to "steal" this idea if I may. I can see this done in a lap quilt for someone in a nursing home as an adult "I Spy"! Thanks for sharing.

From the closeups of your blocks, I didn't think I would like it and then I saw the whole top. WOW! I am always amazed at what combinations of fabrics/colors do to change the whole quilt. Great job and great eye for seeing the potential.

It really is a great (yet traditional) block to use for the I spy idea.

The first pics are semi-close-ups of some of the prints. Some had auditioned for kitchen or laundry room curtains....a couple actually made it.
My first layout was completely random, and I didn't like it. I am much happier with the final layout. If you take a step back, you'll see there is a square (set on point) of light colored blocks centered in the quilt, and the dark colored blocks are arranged a bit like X's around that light center square
I like it better than expected, but now I'm in a pickle regarding the quilting....but I won't whine about it here.
Thanks for looking!
