Eh, I'm not too picky. I've had good lucky with my Fiskers mats, and they've been good to me. I like the fact that they're double sided and that they have markings up to 1/8" clearly marked. I'm not sure about Olfa, I've used them at my LQS, but they didn't turn me on. I really think it's a personal preference.

This may sound odd, but I find the green color of the Olfa mats very restful to my eyes. The yellow lines on them are very easy to read, making it easier to line up fabric.

But I haven't tried other brands, so it's really all I know.

My Olfa mat is probably 15 years old. It is still as good as new. I also have a June Taylor but I don't like it as much, it doesn't lay flat all the time.

And another vote for Olfa from me. It seems to be very robust - takes lots of abuse from the rotary cutter and just keeps on going.

I've got Fiskars and haven't had any problems with them...had them for at least 10 years.

I think cutting boards and rotary cutters are all 50% off this weekend. You can still use the 10% off your total purchase coupon though.

just don't buy one of the white ones. they dull your blades.
people buy them to cover their whole cutting tables, but I'll bet they hate them later.
