I really like them. They're great for quick, simple, easy projects. Sometimes I just don't want to cut!

This is my favorite project I've ever made with jelly rolls.

Love, love, love them. Just made an entire quilt top in just a few hours yesterday with one jelly roll. I have made a handful of things with charm packs. I just ordered a layer cake and got a free pattern from the Moda Bake Shop for a baby quilt.

Personally, I don't usually buy the pre-cut fabrics.

I hate to pay extra for someone to cut the fabric for me. I've never purchased a jelly roll for that reason -- you are usually paying at least 50% extra for the fabric. I'd rather buy 1/8th yard of each.

Charms are the best for laz...I mean busy people.

Just beware-I just used a pack of Moda charms and most of them were about an 1/8th too large. I will from now on go through the whole pack double checking.

I have bought a few jelly rolls and charm and not used them yet. Trying to collect for retirement, etc. but see so much done with them. I have used 10" Layer Cake squares and just love those. I like to do large squares and makes up quick. I made up my own design from this pattern

They're nice to use because you can start piecing quicker because most, if not all, of the fabric is cut for you. They're also nice when you want to use a variety of prints in the same line, but only a small amount of each.

I love pre-cuts. As a newer quilter, I can create a scrappier quilt without waiting years to collect all those scraps! I've worked with charm squares, layer cakes and jelly rolls and don't really have a preference. I like how it's a little bit of the entire line of that particular fabric design. It's a bit of a preview too, as when I find a fabric in the line that I just have to have, I then go buy it in yardage.

I'm afraid I don't understand the comment of paying 50% more for cutting the fabric, I've done the math and it's pretty equal with our yardage prices. I guess it depends on where you are.

I use jelly rolls and layer cakes (10" squares) more then fat quarters. I quit buying fat quarters. I would rather have the jelly roll. The price for a piece of every fabric in the fabric line you get with the precuts is less expensive then buying 1/4 yard of each one and cutting yourself.
