My last bill was to July 13th & was $139.00 for 1,500 sq.ft. I'm totally electric, so not too bad. My neighbors bills are twice as much as I'm really conservative - nothing plugged in that is not being used. Air conditioning on 77 during the day & 75 at nite due to 2nd floor. Our electric rate are going up probably 20-30% this year & this is the 1st yr. we can shop for electric suppliers.

Ours was $341 We dont have AC, we have an evaporative cooler (works well for us in this dry climate) but we have a pool that we run 24/7. Summer is worse for us than winter for the utility bills. :(

My bill that's coming now is $85 on levelized billing. My usage was 602 KWH and the monthly charge was 72.29. So now I'm getting a little jump on the winter billing :-).

I live in the middle townhouse of a 3 unit building. It's two stories and about 1300 square feet. I try to limit the vampire electronics (microwave, tv, modem, router) by keeping most stuff unplugged except for when I'm using it.

I am planning a move to NV and will supplement (or use instead of my AC) with a cooler. Is a large portion of your bill because of the pool? I had hoped a cooler would be much cheaper than AC.

The company I work for (large HVAC contractor) did my furnace and A/C last year since mine was 22 years old. It cut my A/C bill almost in half from previous years.

My last bill for electric was $166 and the gas was about $30 and that was for the July heatwave. I have an 1,100 sq. ft. multi-level condo.

Our "comfort level billing" is $225/mo. Keep 2AC's around 74, have a new hot tub, 2 furnaces, etc. Open windows and fans help to keep $ down~
