That's a great quilt. I've made several canning jar quilts - I love them, but I've never seen anything like your crates. They are so imaginative and fabulous.

Thanks for the info on your quilt. It really looks inviting. Makes me want to take a jar and cook something.

This is the best pattern that I could find for doing my fruit jar quilt. I have been 'bombarded' with dozens of requests for the pattern. The "crate" design I created myself. The potato basket design is a simple rectangle using a 'basketweave' patterned fabric. It is easy to alter the pattern to make larger jars, skinner jars, or actually cut it down to half size and create some pints. There is no paper piecing - thank goodness. Just remember if you alter the pattern on 1 piece you have to alter the others. And to give you an idea of how fast this goes - I did an assembly line and when I put my corners on 1 jar piece - I did it on all of them. Adding the left side of the jar - I did them all at one time. This is fast and fun. And I was able to use a rotary cutter on every piece. If I needed 1 and 1/2" sides I cut long strips that width then flipped them around and I could cut 4 sides in the length that I needed. I looked a long time to find just the right fabric for the jar lids. The fabric I used had a texture almost like burlap or something. It gave it dimension. My taters are appliqued on - my first - and they did great. On my next one I will put a piece of lofty batting under the taters and have the LAQ to quilt around each one. The ears of corn could be done the same way I think. I can't wait to see what you all come up with. Thanks to everyone for all the kind words. You guys are sweet :-D
    THANK YOU SEW MUCH
