How fascinating to see all those old fabrics, aren't the colours lovely and bright too :D

I think it is amazing that you are going to finish something that has been lay around for 70 years or so :D

Lucky you, I bet your Great Grandmother is watching over you.... :D

Thank you all. I do feel blessed to receive these things from my grandmother, who passed them to my mother. My mother died 8 years ago and they were kept at my parents' house until my father passed away. These items mean more to me than diamonds and pearls as they can never be replaced.

The blocks and paper have been in a cedar hope chest for who-knows-how-long. Right now the newspaper pieces are in a ziplock in a dark place and I am looking into preserving them. I can print the scanned copies if I want to display them.

Curves are my least favorite thing to sew and I usually do them by hand to get them as perfect as I can. Any great pointers for doing curves will be appreciated! Also, I am trying to decide how I want to set the fans. I like medallion patterns best but I'm thinking that in order to show each block to advantage maybe all set the same direction would be best. Ideas?

How wonderful for you to be able to complete something your great-grandmother started. It will feel like she is with you.

Lucky you! Definitely something to cherish! Have you thought about setting them on point? They would look pretty anyway you decided, though.
