Walk away for a while and then you can get back to it.

When I saw the 30 minutes, I thought, "Yes, don't plan on doing a day of sewing, just break it into 30 minute bites. If you have multiple projects, pick one to concentrate on." Then I saw the words "aerobic exercise"... guess I just wasn't thinking along the same lines.

When I'm feeling kind of sluggish and unfocused, exercise is the best thing for me. Even if I do nothing more than turn up to the music and dance my heart out, I feel lighthearted and ready to tackle the world when I'm done! Maybe someone else will find that a brisk walk will do the same thing.

On the other hand, if you've been working hard on projects for a while, maybe it's time to take a break and do something else. I'm a gardener, and I've enjoyed it all summer, and Boy! am I glad that the tough season is coming to an end! I'm ready to spend less time in the garden! On the other hand, I'll be raring to go next spring. Everything has its season. Go with the flow.

I would ebb and flow on my sewing moods. The mood would strike and I would start sewing and buying fabric. Then it would leave me, and I wouldn't touch the stuff for months.

Now I work very part-time at a Hancock Fabrics (would have loved to work at a quilt shop, but don't feel qualified enough).

It really keeps me in the mood to sew. I now sew all of the time. Probably at least three times a week.

So maybe to take a stroll through a fabric store or your local quilt shop and see what's out there. It might work!!

Choose one project and work one hour a day on the choosen project and soon it will be finished.

I am from (my mother's) old school. I simply tell myself to sit and work for 15 minutes. And, think of how good I'll feel to have it off the to-do list. Sometimes it works and I end up sewing a lot longer than the 15 minutes.
