I do all mine on the machine too......with one of the decorative stitches....my hand sewing is NOT pretty.

I use a double thread run it through beeswax and do the blind stitch. But I want mine to last, not come off after the first washing!

I love Thread Heaven, too. Or beeswax.

I sew the front on by machine, then turn it and sew it by hand to the back using a single strand of Bottom Line and a very small stitch.

It usually takes several evenings to hand-finish the binding on the back, but I know it's on there to stay. :D I'm not very skilled at piecing and only intermediate in FMQ skills - but this is the one thing I do pretty well.

I do a single thread. I haven't had any problems and some of my quilts have been machine washed and dried quite a bit.

I ALSO use a single strand of quilting thread. It doesn't knot up as double regular thread does even with the stuff you run your thread thru so that it won't tangle...:lol:

I use single thread with small stitches.

I use double thread and ladder stitches on the back, I think I saw that on a Sharon Schamber tutorial, but the ladder stitches disappear.
