I have one like that. We recently went to a swap meet for old cars (dh restores classic cars). I went kicking and screeming, but I then realized he comes all over with me for quilting and sewing. So, off we go at 5am on a hot Sunday morning on muddy grounds. Now mind you, these are the grundgiest guys out there. He spots a woman selling car parts and in a box is an old Singer sewing machine. She sees us looking at it and says make me an offer. Never thinking she would accept any low bid, I offered her $10. She took it and told me her sister found it in an attic of the house she moved into. Ran home with it and looked up the model # on the Singer website. It's from 1927. Going to the tutorial that tells how to clean these old babies. When dh was leaving the grounds, other guys were laughing at him carrying this machine. He told them, "this is why you never bring your wife to a car swap meet". Several years ago we went to another car swap and an old guy had a bachelors chair (Ipsel) that I still have to refinish. So, my dh is also a keeper.

I can't tell if he's smiling or mumbling to himself... "I'll carry it for her but if she thinks I'm paying for it, she's nuts!"
