Our guild has 2 meetings a month. One is at a local quilt shop. We always learn something new either from our guild leader or volunteers. We have show and tell for the projects we are working on. Last month we made blocks for a quilt that will be raffled off to raise money to make charity quilts. One Saturday a month we have a sew in at a local church. We have a donation box and we donate money to the church for letting us use there awesome space. I usually donate $5. You are not required to made a $ donation. We sew for 6 hours and get a LOT accomplished. The space is so large, it is very easy to sandwich a quilt. There are outlets everywhere. I love my guild.

I disagree, when you join a guild, you need and should get involved and not sit in the corner expecting "someone" to do "something". Leaving a guid without your participation does not solve the problem. probably the same old members do all of the work. Sounds like this guild could use a planning committee with new ideas to present each month. We plan our events for the year in a casual planning meeting in January. Anyone is welcome to attend and contribute.
