Good for you - I started moving into my quilting room the same day my eldest daughter moved out. Figured working in my own quilting room would help get over my depression of her moving to her own place. My husband refused to help me - thought I should wait for something. Why? We had someone in the the quest room - guess I was afraid he would put his drums in there and I would be out one sewing room.

I built this house 10 years ago. Since that time - nine people have moved in and out! Not all nine actually lived here. Some that I gave birth to and some were their friends.

It is time for a cleanout.

Congratulations, a quilter needs her space, I hope you continue to reclaim your sewing space, even if its only one box at a time. Winter will be upon us and you will ned to get those quilts made.

Been there done that & am in the works of undoing it too. Our DD#1 moved across country & only took what they could fit in two cars. I ended up clearing out her house & stacking all her stuff in our house, garage, camper & pump house. Then DD#2 moved back & ended up staying here for 6 weeks, witch would not have been so bad, but she brought 3 extra people (without letting us know) with her other than just her family of four. At that time we had our oldest G-Son living here too. So ended up with 10 people along with our DD#1's stuff crammed in. Oh yes, they also brought three dogs, three cats & two rabbits with them. They all thought they had free maid service, room & board. Not to mention my DH & G-son were the only ones working. After 6 weeks DH finally told them all to get out. He didn't care where they went, but just go. I am just now getting rid of DD#1's stuff. Some is being tossed & some I have given away to those that need it. Am slowly claiming our house back too. DH said no more move ins or dumping stuff on us period & that is final. Has ticked off a few, but oh well, that is life. We don't mind helping someone, but enough is enough.

What an awesome feeling - I loved it when we moved - I went thru everything stored and moved with 1/3 less 'junk'. Once I moved, unpacked - more went. ahhhhh what a wonderful feeling. Congratulations to you and your hubby - enjoy!

I am afraid to take pictures...I may break the camera!
My niece just called and wants to bring over her wedding gown and maybe 2 or 3 bridesmaids to have measurements done. Hubby ( I have to remember I love him) said " sure come on over, she will be home, no problem" I almost fell over. I spent the last 4 days emptying out our motor home getting it ready for cold storage. All the stuff from there is sitting on my kitchen floor waiting to be put away. I told him we had lots to do Saturday and Sunday, plus I work half a day Saturday. My sewing room is no way ready to even take measurements in. The wedding is next June...I am in no hurry to start that project until after christmas AND after the room is clean.

I had a conversation with my niece last night and we (I) decided we should wait a few weeks before we get together and start her wedding. Told her what was going on and she was so surprised...she offered to come over and help. Told her I might take her up on folding fabrics.
I have to go to the office this morning, but....I have started! Already pulled two bags of stuff out. These were not my bags, so I do not care what is in them. I plan on taking about another 15 minutes to do a few more boxes. I will "look " into each one, but I will not spend more than a few minutes on each. I actually found a timer, I am going to put it to use. I am so stoked!
Thanks for all the encouragement. Sometimes a swift kick helps.
