I bought some fiskars with a coupon at Joann's that work just fine. I don't use them often but when I do they work well. I use them to cut muslin strips for facial waxing and sometimes around the edge of my quilt before binding, so it does tick and thin cutting.

I have a pair of Fiskar soft-touch pinking shears and I really like them. I know Gingher are very good ones. You can probably get a coupon to help with the cost whatever brand you decide on.

I think I have 3 pair that I never use, old old pair of Weis.....only use my wavy rotary blade, in fact just used it yesterday for the seams on binding that I pressed open.
