I agree with dunster. But your quilting will make this really outstanding!

I agree your LA quilting would look stunning but after taken apart will the top be sturdy enough ? looks a little frail and fragile..

This looks very similar to a quilt I had years ago, and sold on Ebay! I had to get the pictures out and show you!

I don't know! I sold it with the shams in the picture. I did a lot of Ebay selling back then so I could stay home with my sweet girl while she was little. She's 13 now! The quilt and shams were purchased at Sears. Used gently for only a few months until we received a quilt my MIL had handmade for us. In turn, that later started me on my own quilting journey when it started to fall apart after years of use and weekly washings. Wouldn't that be something if it were the same quilt?!
! The quilt and shams were purchased at Sears.

The one first shown was hand stitched, the second had to be machine stitched since it was bought at Sears. ALSO, I am horrified that anyone (and everyone seems to be "anyone") would take out hand stitching and do the "early 21st century thing of doing fancy long-arm quilting instead! You would reduce the value of the quilt, the feel of it, the reminder of what quilts used to be! I don't hand stitch anything (I have arthritis and a whole set of hand tools to help me when making quilts) but you have a quilt that reflects history and you want to modernize it! Hurts my soul. If it needs more, closer, quilting I'd have some one do it by hand, since I can't myself. Do your long arm magic on some other quilt!

Now you have your first horrified protest!

It is beautiful just the way it is. Perhaps cross-hatch in the squares but please, nothing that would detract from the simplicity of such a lovely quilt.
