Hello, Amy---from Mississippi! And congrats on the grandbaby!
I made this for my first quilt--http://www.cluckclucksew.com/2010/07...rip-quilt.html--and it was super easy to sew and quilt.

Welcome from PA. If you have basic sewing skills, putting a simple quilt together should be doable. Look for a simple pattern on line, magazine, library or local quilt shop. Rail Fence is quick and easy for a first quilt in a baby size.
Good luck and learn to post pictures for show and tell on your progress.

QB can help a lot when they can see any difficulty you may be having.

Welcome from SW Ontario, Canada. Take your time to measure and cut and make sure you have a 1/4" seam allowance. Good luck

Hi, Amy, you'll have a lot of fun. My grandchildren's quilts were simple, brightly coloured and despite holdups all got to them before they started school (!) So my advice is take it easy, enjoy the process, the baby won't be critical and the mum will think you're soooo nice to do it all. Buying at a friendly quilt shop is better than a big chain store for your first few quilts because if they're good people they'll understand and want you to succeed and their fabric is a bit more trustworthy for beginner quilters.

Me again, Amy. Just wanted to ask, as a non-American, where is NT? (Here it would stand for Northern territory).
