You've done an outstanding job on your design! I'd go with multicolor washing.

I think it's really cute. Babies eyes like the high contrast of black and white. The bows and flowers are a nice touch ;-)

I think your skull squares are going to be small enough they won't be so gruesome. You're making a quilt you know the mom will love. It will be cute!

My nephew and his wife had their second baby girl SIX years ago here in Texas. They are more into the "skull thing". My daughters and I made her a baby quilt with pinks and browns that did indeed contain skulls. I worried how it would be received but to this date it is her favorite and she keeps it on her bed. Her much older sister loved it so much she wanted one too so we did pinks and blacks for her. Yes, my fabrics were from JoAnns.

Don't worry or listen to the negative. I'm not a real cat fan, but I don't get on and cut down ladies who make cute quilts with cats.

Thank goodness we don't all like the same things or what a dull place this world would be! Since the parents want skulls I think your design is going to be perfect! The one thing I've found over the years of making quilts is that when I'm making it for someone else it's not about what I like, it's about what they like. Sometimes the two things are the same but often they aren't.

If that is what the family likes, this is a cute quilt for the baby.

I'm not a skull fan, but the bows and flowers will soften the blow.

I promise to not make a comment on skulls (guess I just did), in general, I would sash each block with the bow color or scrappy sash.
