Very pretty, I think the darker blue would make a nice frame.

    Very pretty quilt!

I would make the binding from one fabric, because using a scrappy binding may detract from the center. I would audition the border fabric and the red fabric first. I'd also probably audition a darker blue fabric similar to the one in the center with the black (?) squiggles - something like a tone-on-tone or marbled, something subtle.

I lay my audition fabrics under the edge of the quilt so just the width of a binding shows. I stand back to look. I take pictures. Sometimes I don't like any of them. Sometimes I leave it up for a day or two or three. One of the fabrics eventually jumps up and grabs me and says "I'm the one!"

I would use a dark blue...... think it would bring out the dark blue in floral blocks.......... you did a great job saving the top.
Good luck on what ever you decide. Hope you post a followup picture of the quilt when done.

I like what you have done with this quilt. I would bind it in red.

I always like the darkest color for the binding. Why? Who knows. LOL. Just do.

I think you will find the red binding will take away the impact of the center. I would opt for the same blue as the outer border. Audition. Fold about 1/4" of the red fabric over the edge like binding for about 5-10" then do the same with the blue. Compare and see which one you like best. Absolutely love the quilt, by the way.
