JoAnn's coupons

I frequent the local Hancocks and they will take the JoAnn's coupons but they want a copy and they keep it.
Also I no longer receive the Hancock flyers and when I inquired why, the sales associate said they only send them to their "top" spending customers. She had some under the counter and gave it to me. She said the corporate office preferred people use the internet to check for sales and print coupons...guess it is one of the cost savings things. The downside is if I don't receive a flyer I may not look at the website and don't go into the store.

The last several times I went to Joann's to redeem coupons there was little fabric that was not on sale (and obvious why because it was faded and bland fabrics only). I asked a person putting back fabric if there was any NOT on sale and she said only some on the middle of the back wall! After spending about 20 to 30 minutes looking throughout the store for things I might want, and finding more than half of everything (it seemed) on sale I left without anything. After this happened 3 times I have pretty much stopped going to Joann's. Last week I wanted rotary blades and asked DH if he would pick them up. He went to several stores and Joann's was priced the highest, coming down to close to the other stores' prices only with the coupon. At our local store, anyway, the coupons are useless. We don't like the gimmick of what they are doing. They've made it into a sham.

Sandrea/Sierra..... hate to sound negative.... but I too have been very disappointed with Joann's. I have also pretty much stopped shopping there. At least in my area not impressed with their store.... hope something changes because I enjoyed them so!

When they have their fabrics on sale for $1.00 off per yard, that is still not a bargain for me! $1.00 off $12.99 or $13.99 a yard fabric is not enough enticement to buy it. Now if I could use a 40-50% off coupon on it, then I'm more interested!

This is exactly what I was talking about in my post above. Once they mark the fabric $1.00 off per yard, you are not allowed to use your 40-50% COUPON on that fabric ..... so that's no bargain. I wish too that something would change. I used to love to shop at JoAnns.

I used to treat myself to a magazine with a coupon. Now they have magazines 10 percent off so you can't use a coupon. I will not spend $6 on a magazine when I usually just look at the pictures. Very seldom actually make a quilt out of the magazine. They do know what they're doing. You just have to shop so carefully!
