    I happy for you SteveH, this machine is so cool, and the case look at those joints in on the side they have held up beautifully all these yrs.

    yeah, I am going to be gentle and use no power tools, but I really want to freshen up that case

    Do you know what year it was made? It may have a plate on it with the year. It is really nice....envious!

    Actually it does. (even if they did not, Wheeler & Wilson stanped the SN into the frame right below the plate that slide off)

    So, I was not able to solder the broken handcrank arm together last night. I have decided to take it to my instructors house and TIG weld it back together. He is a Master welder and when we are done it should be virtually invisible.

    In the meantime, I made a new handle arm out of 14ga steel. Heather asked if I had any idea what was I going to use for a handle? I said no. Her suggestion works... hehehehe

    this weekend I got most of the thread path cleaned and polished.

    It took about 1 hour of fiddling with the upper and lower tension, but she now sews!!!
