That is such cool info Tammi. Does that mean I have to find a Kenmore machine to match the darning plate?
I am putting a note in the box with the model info. Who knows what I will find in the future?

Of course it does! I like those 158 machines too. Maruzen / Jaguar is the manufacturer on them. I've had 3 or 4 of them here and they all worked extremely well.

That's a good idea. I just look it up, put it away, forget what it's for, look it up again.... well, you know.
I cleaned up the Kenmore today and oiled, greased and de-fuzzed. I found 2 pins bent into perfect "V"s in the underbits, but the machine still runs great. Poor thing looked like someone duct taped most of the front of it at some point, the pins, the alleged looping problem. It seems happy to be here now though. I put a metal bobbin in it, it didn't like that, but once I realized what I did and wound the plastic one, it's terribly happy. I bought it to "flip it", but I keep thinking it would do great as a traveling machine...
