Since I live in the SAME town as where this seller is SUPPOSED
to live I wonder what the response from him would be if I contacted
him and asked if I could do a visual look at the setup before I decide
    if I want to bid.

Hmmm just might try this tomorrow.

Quilty-Louise ~ It would be worth a try. If you do, let us know what you find out. Be careful!

I sent a message to him already.

IF (and that is a mighty BIG word for this instance) he responds to
me I would definitely take my hubs with me to view this machine.

But in all honesty I don't think he is going to reply to me, if he doesn't
that will be all the answer I need on the legit of this ebay listing.

I wouldn't touch it with a ten foot pole. It sounds suspiciously like two that I have seen on ebay that were both scams. I was watching the first one, and it vanished. So I started doing random searches and a couple of days later found the exact same add, different person of course. I reported that one, and it went away as well. The wording is just slightly different in this one, but very much the same. The red words below is a dead give away. My advice: don't do business with this person. Either they are set up a "fake" account or they have spoofed someone else's. In this case it seems they have created their own "fake" one.

I wonder where the report button went? It used to be at the bottom of each listing.
Don't know if the seller or machine is for real, but there are a lot of things in the listing that are 100% against Ebay's policy.

So far no reply from the seller.

Funny thing is last night there was 54 bids with the bid being
    at $2375.

This morning I see there are only 9 bids, and the bid is at $610.

When I was on the hunt for my Bernina a couple of years ago, I found these ads - same format, listed one day, gone the next, same "contact me before bidding", I am pretty sure they are scammers
