I think some curved quilting across those corners would help your eye to continue moving and not stop to look at the seams. I agree with everyone else.. Wonderful quilt!

I think it might have something to do with which seam is sewn first that has shifted the placement. Disappointing for sure when it is such a gorgeous quilt top. I don't think you can fix it without it moving another section off. As others have said, it will be less noticeable once the quilt is washed.

If I leave it as is, what type of batting do you think would be best so that the problem is less noticeable?

If it were mine, I'd first pat myself on the back for doing such a good job and then get to quilting it. I'd use Warm and Natural type of batting. It shrinks a bit and gives quilts a nice crinkled look. I love that look and it hides lots of my mistakes.

other than re-pressing some seams, I'd just do small meandering on the whole quilt. then wash it. it really should look much better after that. good luck.

I love the quilt, and agree with everyone to just leave it alone.
I would use a cotton batting, like warm and natural and don't pre shrink it. After quilting & binding, wash the quilt and the batting will now shrink just a bit and give you a crinkled look

This is why I started glue basting my quilts together before sewing. LOL. The quilt is very nice. I would just pet it and promise to do better next time.

No one will be able to tell unless they are a quilter themselves and even then they will still love it. I have a friendship star quilt from my aunt that is like that and I still use it every night, have been sleeping under it for over 15 years now and still love it imperfections and all

Until I scrolled down to the second picture, I thought to myself, what the heck is she talking about? The quilt is beautiful! Like others have said, leave it as is and enjoy. It would be great to see a picture after you have quilted it and washed it.

I don't like that fusible grid stuff either. Tried it once, never again.
