Well that was a good find for $3. I feel so sad when I see hand done quilts in estate sales or auctions knowing no one in the family must've wanted it. (Of course I also feel bad about old photos too). That quilt is lucky to have you rescue it. I'm sure whatever you do with it will be fabulous!

I found this full size quilt, hand made at a garage sale for.....$3.00.
HOWEVER thus is the best part of. I don't know that I could even get a twin size out of it, due to the multiple tears/rips& missing parts of it.
I just loved it though & the fact that it was hand made!
But now, what to do with it?
Thoughts? Suggestions?

I'm sleeping under another Grandmother's Flower Garden that's about the same age as yours right now. Mine just has a single row of yellow hexes between the flowers. Yours is the fancy version. Mine is pretty tattered but it's so soft and comfortable that it's also my favorite quilt in the house. I'll retire it after I make a new quilt to fit the bed.
You have a great find there, enjoy it. Textiles don't last forever and there's worse fates for quilts than to be used completely up.

Ideas for this lovely quilt:
If you have a large enough table, it would make a great tablecloth. I love the scalloped edges.
If you simply don't have any place to display it and would be willing to part with it, a women's shelter or community senior citizens center or library would Love to display it. I know it would bring a smile to the faces of anyone who sees it. I know it made me smile.
