Thanks again, I really appreciate the input from everyone.
amcatanzaro, I think something was lost in the translation

Good point about the 'not included' table, I'll mess around with everything if it doesn't sell and start fresh next week.

For those of you that can get out and about, the world is your oyster. For people like me, chained at home (89 year old mother w/advanced dementia) the prices you run across machines for are in never never land In our dreams perhaps!

thanks again for the input!

Devil's advocate here, but when you get your treasures home, how much time and money go into a machine before you feel it is in top shape? Your time and parts are all worth dollars.
The tuneup on this was $69.00 and the parts brought it up to $120.00.
I'm not trying to recoup that, I've gotten my pleasures worth out of it, but just chatting, I've seen the hours spent and parts ordered for our lovelies all over the forum. You can hardly call something a $10.00 machine if you have to put a lot into it.

I was given a featherweight a few years ago, wasn't I thrilled! She was right, it was a boat anchor I must have spent at least 30 hours working on cosmetics for machine and case alone. Based on that experience, and again, the time I see invested here, the only machines I've purchased since have been in decent shape and working order.

My treadle head and cabinet were free last year and I don't think the machine was ever used. So I guess I do get in on some of the good stuff! Did have to lash out on treadle cord...so it wasn't free in the overall sense of the word

If you run across any perfect craigslist ads will you post them here? So I can make a better ad?

I'm always amazed it is free to use the service. Wonder how they recoup all the server space? Any ideas?

Your ad looks fine, though you might want to include a picture of the faceplate, since you mentioned how great it looks.

I'm on Craig's list most days. Do you prefer the Seattle or Portland market for machines?

I think I misunderstood the Craig's list question. Your ad was actually pretty good as written. I'd show a better picture of the box too. It's hard to find boxes of that vintage in good condition. While you may not like the alligator finish on it, it's like the decorations on the machine. Someone will like it.
Also, I'm happy to keep my eyes open for a 301 for you. They do turn up at decent prices occasionally.
I generally put 2 to 3 hours into a machine before it will sew if nothing is really wrong. Mostly it's just a good cleaning and oiling plus the tensions are usually way off.
Unless you just got it out of a shop or saw it sew before you bought it, I would count on that time being spent on any used machine.
