I had this recorded, I think the husband misunderstood. There was a logo at the bottom when the show begins that said For Love Of Quilting Mary Fons, like a title so you would know who she was.

Shortly after she started on Love of Quilting with mother Maryanne Fons, researched Mary Fons. The most interesting item I found was this one. Mary Fons is a stage performer with what evidently is great talent and stamina. She also has devastating health issues. Most notably; she has no color due to autoimmune disease. She's quirky for sure and very talented. If you are interested in reading a review of her stage show, here is the link:

I didn't find anything relating to her death so I hope that's not true But she has serious health issues so it wouldn't surprsie or shock me.

I sure hope it was a mistake. While on this thread, tho, Why isn't Liz Porter on the show anymore? I see patterns from her in the magazine each issue, but not on the show. Is she ill? retired?

The article reads no colon, not no color...and this is really sad. I have found her to be irritating but now, knowing this, I feel the need to extend compassion. Who knows how much she has suffered.

I saw her at a quilt show about 6 months or so ago and she was delightful and even though her talk was very informal and funny I got the impression it really hurt her feelings to hear all the negative comments about her and comparisons to Liz Porter. I followed a blog of hers while she was going through her huge health ordeal and got to admire her from afar. She has really been through a long ordeal.

Sorry, but I have always felt that Liz was more or less maneuvered out to make way for Mary. JMHO
