I'm sorry for the loss of your daughter. I have a son who served twice in Afghanistan, and I was so afraid he would be killed. Thankfully, he came home physically whole, but mentally broken with PTSD from doing things he really didn't want to do. That was a few years ago, and he is much better today, although he is still in therapy.
Also, I am western NC, as well. I live in Buncombe County.

Welcome to QB from FL. This is a friendly, helpful place. It's sad and horrific to have a child die, no matter the age, but you are making good progress if you're thinking about using her machine and teaching her girls when they're ready! Try to find some joy in each day.

Welcome from Central Ohio! I'm so very sorry for your loss. I'm glad that you are thinking about working on some of her projects. It may be therapeutic for you when you are ready. As another poster said, it would also be wonderful for her kids to have something from both of you. Enjoy the board. There is a lot going on, lots of great quilts posted, and lots of friendly people willing to provide input or just chat.

I cannot imagine the pain you must be in. I hope I never feel what you must be going through. You lost not only a daughter but it sounds like a dear friend. I pray for you and your two granddaughters. I hope in time you heart will heal although it will never be the same. I am glad you are using the board. Lots of great people on here.

I'm so very sorry you lost your precious daughter and friend. My heart aches for you. I think you'll feel a special closeness to her when you touch and use her machine that she enjoyed. May you find healing as you create new things and handle old ones. Love Zo from Maryland
