Yes, I saw it at an antique store in Allenhurst, NJ. Since I had never seen a domestic Durkoff I was reluctant to purchase it, but as it happened there was another one on Ebay without the treadle. So I bought both thinking I could use one as parts, however they both sew really nicely. And yes it is like a Singer 15. It uses huge tire bobbins, my sewing machine repair guy made one for me, but if any one knows where I could buy them, I'd appreciate it.

HelenAnn, good question. He said he took a large rubber o-ring, cut it and used some type of crazy glue. I will try to find out where he got the o-ring and exactly what glue he used the next time I talk to him - that is if he is willing to share his secret, he may have been vague on purpose. Patrick
