I had some small ones (made into hst's) and used them as borders on a patriotic quilt , but had added corners to them to make them larger. square in a square.
also used some up from snow ball blocks and used them in the inner border on that quilt. did sort of a zig zag with them.

Depends on the size. Most get a decent burial. froggyintexas

I just made a quilt and had a lot of HST left and used them in the border.

Make a Lady of the Lake quilt out of the leftovers. Makes a great scrappy quilt.

Depending on the size and what pattern I'm working on I've used them on the border to add a little extra character. Here's a couple I've used the cut-offs on........... Otherwise they get thrown into a small tote I keep them in until I find a use. Maybe make a pillow to go with the quilt you're working on.

I keep all leftover blocks and pieces....the blocks are saved until I have enought to make a VERY scrappy and wild quilt top (grandkids love em)....all pieces get tossed into a tub until there is enough to mess with, then all get cut down into usable size squares or strips.
