Yes, this is it - the bobbin running out as I sew the best seam I ever sewed, maybe in the history of sewing!

    Arrgh!

It seems that I cannot commit to a block of the month or a block exchange because it makes me feel like I have HOMEWORK!

Binding. I hate, hate, hate binding a quilt! I've taken classes and talked to people and glued and pinned and everything else -they just don't look good! Much rather have my bobbin run out!!

My "Irks Me to No End" is when I fail to pay attention to what I'm doing and something goes wrong, like all of a sudden I have a half inch seam instead of a quarter inch seam.

When I lay out my design and CAREFULLY plan the sewing order. It NEVER fails that at one point I sew the wrong side and my entire pattern gets off. Often I don't notice until the entire top is sewn. At least I have a battery-operated seam ripper for just those occasions.

I am not the most perfect sewer when it comes to matching seams, etc, I just do it to the best of my ability and think that this quilt is going to keep someone warm whether it is perfect or not.

I try never ever to undo , just a waste of time. It has to be a very very serious reason. The thing which annoys me are my two seams slipping apart as you sew 1/4" seam.
    not sure why they slip.

The math, if I'm trying to make a quilt without a pattern!! One small calculation error and it drives me mad for hours trying to figure it out. Last time this happened, the QB members saved my sanity

Seams and points that don't match drive me crazy. I will work on those until they are perfect. Bobbins running out and twisted seams aren't a big deal to me.

What bothers me is that I am using a 1/4" foot with a guide and I move my needle over 1 so I'm getting a scant 1/4" so that is good - right? Well, somehow my blocks never end up even or if there are points, I loose the points when I put them together. So my new motto is "make it bigger and trim it to size!" Waste a little fabric - keep my sanity.
